Agent Orange Zone Readers Respond

  1. Would like to get a count of how many Nam Vets that were exposed to Agent Orange have developed Brain Cancer(GBM-4).

  2. Yes and a count of how many Nam Vets children and there children have A.D.D. And how many Nam Vets have had parts of there colon removed because "it looks like your colon was welded together, never seen anything like it." Therefore it must be Diverticulitis, to much fat in your diet not A.O.

    1. I've wondered the same thing. I'm the firstborn child and I'm affected so why wouldn't my mother have been affected? My mother died very suddenly (6 days) of AML Acute Myeloid Leukemia after my Dad passed away from AO related symptoms.

  7. A/O was stored and USED on the Island of Okinawa in 1968 through 1970 at LEAST. Operation "RED HAT" admits the Army/Navy/Airforce used, stored and then shipped thousands of 55 gallon drums (those that weren't buried on the island @ Camp Foster) to the Johnson Atoll in the S. Pacific for disposal/incineration.. That is according to the Military's OWN report of"Operation Red Hat". Yet the Defense Department and the VA STILL deny A/O was EVER used or stored on Okinawa. I was there, I saw it being sprayed and saw where it was stored at Machinato. Jon Mitchell has written many stories about the use and storage of Agent Orange on Okinawa that have appeared in the Japan Times and the Okinawa times, Photographs showing A/O barrels still containing dioxins have been dug up in Childrens school yards and soccer fields on Okinawa. The VA still lies while Veterans die!

  9. The corporate/military rational for using Agent Orange:Blue:Black etc. was victory at whatever cost.
The most horrifying aspect is that those makers of defoliating agents have not been held accountable for their part in the world's largest and most devastating chemical warfare event(s).The US govt. has denied culpability on every occasion, even for US servicemen dying by the thousands over the last four decades
The suffering of the Vietnamese children, innocent victims of this war crime can never be compensated properly- as our own troops have never been compensated adequately.Monsanto et al have moved along, money in the bank, to produce even greater quantities of chemical defolients positioning the earth.

  12. "He died in Vietnam and passed away at home."  I read that from a post the son of an Agent Orange victim wrote. It resonated with me. That sentence sums it all up, doesn't it?

My father also died in Vietnam, but it took him 30 years to slowly pass away here at home. Agent Orange slowly killed him. Day by day, Dr. by Dr., never getting answers, just more meds. Then meds to counteract the damage the other medicine was doing to his organs. And on and on. Ignored by the VA, no longer able to do the work he loved.

I was 7 yrs old and remember, as clear as day, this tough, proud Marine having to crawl around the house on his elbows and knees because his hands and feet were so swollen and painful, it brought him to tears. That is what serving his country, and coming home to hatred and lies got him.

The connective tissue in my Dad's body became an enemy to his immune system. Is it Lupus? Is it RA? Drugs and more drugs. He passed away at 59 from his heart being weakened by all the drugs, and finally just stopped. AO killed him, bottom line.

Now I suffer from the same connective tissue disorder, along with a slew of other issues that, when looked at individually, you think are unrelated but put them all together and they are all symptoms of two auto immune disorders. However, I cannot even begin to sort this out. I can't find anyone to listen. Surely there must be doctors who specialize in this type of thing. It's been over 40 yrs that people have been suffering!

I don't want money. Money won't bring my Dad back. My anger cannot be paid off. What I want is to NOT to die like my Dad did. But, I'm a walking medicine cabinet at the age of 47, and I'm scared. I want to not hurt. I want someone to listen and actually investigate. I want someone to actually give a rat's ass.  I want someone to say "I'm sorry we killed your father and didn't even acknowledge AO kills people,  until 3 yrs AFTER he passed away." Of course I won't get that.

All I have left of my hero, the greatest man I've ever known, is his disease.

I write this through tears of sadness, anger and a deep emptiness. Thank you for listening.

    Tamara

  13. I was stationed at Andersen AFB Guam in 1973 during Arc Light operations.Agent Orange was sprayed there from 68-78 by Msgt Leroy Foster( Google). My granddaughter is special needs had a form of Spina bifida a tethered spinal cord double vision ext.I feel I messed up her chromosomes by being exposed to dioxin a human carcinogen. The VA doesn't acknowledge Guam but AO was sprayedthere at 7x the strength as vVietnam per Foster who testified to Congress and military courts...he's 100% disabled.I have kidney stones extreme low Vitamin D my extremities lockup on me and I twitch unexpectedly. Can't even get a test by Phoenix VA cuzz their working with Gulf War vets and I wasn't in Vietnam...they laughat me because they ddon't acknowledge Guam as polluted as Andersen is was a Superfund cleanup. But that wasn't for AO so its still in the soil.

  17. Please read about the contamination of Anniston Alabama(ft.mcclellan) by Monsanto & DOD-@ Anniston army depot. The worst poisioning in our history. Monsanto dumped PCBs into the water untreated for 40 years. I have no doubt every army facility around the globe used this PCB byproduct for decades

  18. My Viet Nam husband 1971-1972 died in 2011 from Stage 4 Melanoma which I think was caused by being exposed to Agent Orange. But this kind of cancer isn't on the list. That's what I've been told the 3 times I applied for compensation. He was in the army spraying, getting sprayed by AO planes and sleeping in it while in the bush. I keep praying they'll add melanoma to the list. Email address: mysucramer@yahoo.com not the one below.

  20. VN 70-72 Navy, brown water. boots on ground. looking for the VA to add Barretts disease to presumptive conditions. Started with GERD and now is a pre-cancerous disease. Been on medication since 1980 when I got married and wife made me go to doctors.
